Technorati is an affiliate of the Digital Publishing Forum (DPF), which is composed of some of the leading global digital media companies including Yahoo!, Microsoft and Cisco Systems. The DPF was established in 2003 to advance standards that allow uniform identification of content published on digital media platforms and originated with partners ABCNews.com and Reuters.
Technorati, in 2009, was a member of the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Social Web Working Group. In 2010 it became an affiliate member of the W3C.
In May 2011 Technorati announced it had joined the DataPortability Project, which aims to standardize personal data sharing and portability on the web.
According to Alexa Internet rankings, Technorati is ranked among the top 1000 most-visited websites worldwide as of October 2006. The website has over 180 million pages indexed by Google and receives over 7 million unique visitors a month. , Technorati has been visited by at least 50 million unique users since its inception. In 2006, Technorati received the "Best Social Site" category award from OMMA for being the social network with the best user growth over time, with 5 million users in three years.
In April 2008, Technorati was named one of the Top 3 Most Valuable Websites by BusinessWeek.
In May 2008, Technorati was named among Time Magazine's "50 Best Websites".
