How To Overcome Anger And Road Rage
The vast majority of people think that anger is something that always has to be present, but this isn't true. Instead, it is how you deal with emotion when a situation presents itself and makes you feel an intense amount of passion that determines whether or not you become angry. This can happen in so many different situations, but one that tends to lead to anger more often than not is if someone cuts you off on the road.
Inherent in anger are three key emotions: hate, frustration, and sadness. When these emotions build up over time without any outlet for them (which can be common), they become harder and harder to control until the final result is an angry outburst. Although people love to blame the other person for their anger, the truth is that no matter what the other person does, you are the one who'll end up fuming.
Road rage can lead to serious consequences for both you and your car if not managed well. When a motorist gets so angry at being cut off that he or she decides to hurt other motorists, this can lead to serious accidents including death. Because of this, it's a good idea to try and calm your anger before hitting another vehicle or hurting yourself.
Here are a few simple tips that can help you beat road rage:
1. When something infuriating happens, take a moment to stop and think before doing anything. This gives you time to decide what you actually want to do instead of just reacting emotionally. You can keep your hands off the steering wheel and take a calming breath while making this decision. If you feel like driving around the other driver or going off on them, make sure you consider how this will make the situation worse for both of you by adding more danger and emotion into it. Then, ask yourself if the risk is worth it. Most of the time, it isn't.
2. After a situation like this, where your anger has led you to acting irrationally, take a few more deep breaths before getting out of the car. This will flush the toxins out of your system and keep you from having an outburst that could potentially make things worse.
3. If you are going to get out of the car and engage in any sort of road rage, do so calmly and assertively. Make sure you don't turn around and start slamming on your horn or doing anything else that could be dangerous or illegal for you or anyone else involved. You can use your cell phone to record if something needs to be brought up later if it's something for which there are no witnesses (like an accident with injuries).
4. When you get out of your car, stay calm and polite. If you're parking in front of a store or other public place, do not act like you're in a threat situation. You'll look stupid, and others will know that you were just doing it as a way to get attention or to make someone else feel uncomfortable or angry simply because they cut you off.
5. By utilizing the tips above, I hope that people can avoid the road rage epidemic that is currently sweeping across America. It's not cool to let your emotions get the best of you on the road because it can lead to tragic accidents like the one which has been covered in this article recently (or any accident with injuries). If you want to avoid things like that, try to keep yourself in check.

2011 (Bonus) The Rake's Way
A man was walking down the street when he passed a bar and stopped in his tracks. He noticed that the door was open, so he walked in and sat down next to a beautiful woman at the bar. She smiled at him and said, "Your eyes are beautiful." "You're very kind," said he, "I have never met anyone like you before. What's your name?" "I am called the Rake." "That's an interesting name," he said. He had a few more drinks and they talked for about an hour. Finally, she said, "I have to leave now, but it was very nice meeting you. Goodbye." As the woman stood up to leave, the man reached over and pulled her back down onto his lap. "Wait a minute," he exclaimed, "If you are a rake then I must be a Lion tamer!"
