 It's Okay To Shine!

It's okay for you to shine. Have you ever been working on a project and felt the pressure to do it better than your best? Or have you ever been feeling like the rest of your life is just not good enough? You feel that you are not reaching the potential in your life that everyone else seems to be able to accomplish.

Well, what if I told you it's normal, natural, and okay to feel this way? It doesn't mean that anything is wrong with you or that there isn't anything positive in your life; it just means that sometimes focusing on all of the negatives in our lives can distract us from everything else going on around us.

What if I told you that it's okay to feel the way you did when you were in high school and were trying to fit in? Why is it okay to feel the way you did back then when your friends could get their homework done faster than you? It's because, at that time, we are still learning how to set our own standards. Sometimes we may base our own personal values and expectations off of others who are around us.

It's okay to shine! We need people around us that inspire us and make us want to succeed. Those peers will help push us forward into making something fantastic out of ourselves. It's not wrong to look toward others for confidence and guidance; however, it is important for us to realize that we have to be our own person. We can't always act like someone else, if we want everyone else to accept us for who we are and what we want to become.

How many times do you wake up in the morning dreading the day ahead? Have you ever felt that way about a specific job or class? You feel stuck and are ready for a change in your life, but you don't know how to make it happen. You feel that you can talk about these feelings with your friends and family, but most of them have never had the same issues as you have. It can be hard to explain your feelings.

Now, let me say this: I'm not saying it's okay to go around telling people how much you hate the job that you are doing or the classes that you have to take. Knowing how important it is to be honest with yourself—and others—it's important to ask for help when you need it. You'll feel so much better once you find a way-out of your situation, and even better when everyone else is happy for you about it.

It's okay to shine! There are so many things in life that we do have control over. As long as we have a positive outlook on life, there is always hope for us. So, the next time you find yourself feeling down, remember it's okay to shine!

Do you feel the same way as this author? I hope not. But I also hope that you feel inspired and empowered by reading something like this!

The 2013-14 School year has started and many students are already complaining about their classes, teachers, and how hard their classes are. As I've said before, University is not easy. It's a place where your GPA will be scrutinized and you have to set the right pace for your classes. Although it can be difficult, it will be worth it in the long run.
As most of us know, school is not just limited to lectures and tests. Students are also expected to network and actively seek out ways to expand their knowledge outside of the classroom. Networking is an important part of finding a job in the future, making friends, and keeping up with what's going on around campus and your community. It's also a great way to get ideas on what classes you want to take.
However, networking can be frustrating if you're not sure where to start. It's up to you to make the first move! Here are some tips on how you can become an effective networker:
Change the way you think about networking. It doesn't have to feel like work and it doesn't have to be a stressful event. It's a great way for you to get involved in your community, meet new people, and share information that will better your education path. Remember: Not everyone knows everything or has experience in every field of study. Be open to meeting people who are willing to help.
Be friendly and genuine . This is the most important step in networking. You have no idea how many people you will meet, but if you are rude, obnoxious, or simply not genuine about your interest in whatever it is that you want to share with someone, they will not give the information or advice that you want. When you start out, just be yourself and don't treat people as if they are beneath your level of knowledge.
Be careful what questions you ask . It's important that this is done in a way that shows your interest without being pushy. Questions that are too personal can come off as insulting or rude. The best way to approach this is to ask open-ended questions and don't give an answer right away.
Give praise where praise is due . If someone has helped you out or shown you a great resource, be sure to acknowledge it! There are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of on campus, so tap into them!

School is the time to expand our knowledge, gain confidence in ourselves, meet new people, and learn from our teachers. It's important to remember that education is a lifelong experience. It should never be taken for granted and, even if we feel confident about all of the knowledge that we hold at one point in time, it can change with one book or lesson. The more that we learn and discover new things, the more confidence we will have in ourselves and what we have to offer.

Those who are confident can handle any situation that comes their way, while those who aren't confident feel stuck or nervous. We all want to be able to feel self-assured and comfortable with who we are.
Below are some tips that are easily implemented into daily life!
Stop worrying about what other people think of you . It's easy for us to get caught up in what others have to say about us—whether it be positive or negative.

Conclusion: Living a life where we have confidence in ourselves is the best way to live, because we are living with what we have to offer, not our insecurities.
Anxiety is an important thing to talk about because it affects millions of people. It is also not a topic that should be kept secret. People who do struggle with anxiety want to talk about it so that others can understand how it affects them and what they can do about it. The following are some common ways that anxiety manifests itself:
People worry about issues over which they have no control .
Most people who suffer from anxiety know the feeling of having their heart race and their palms get sweaty at the thought of something bad happening.
