 Never Forget A Name Again

You've been out to a party and completely lost track of all your friends names. Never fear, just follow these easy steps and you'll be engrossed in the latest music podcast without fail.

Nobody like forgetting names. What's worse is when somebody never learns your name or remembers it incorrectly! Sure, you can always write down their name down on paper but then it's easy for them to forget who you are as well. And what if they think your name is something it isn't? That can lead to embarrassment. Here are some steps you can take to remember their name the next time you meet or even see them at work.

Don't worry, I've forgotten their name as well and I've found a way for you to forget about that moment never happened.

Are you ready? Lets find out how!

Step 1: Find A Common Ground

You've met somebody who has given you their name... and you've already forgotten it! Don't worry, there's a way to remember it.

Who is this person and what do they do? You'll soon find someone who has common ground with you. If they are a guy who has just given you his name, he's probably interested in the same things that you're interested in. This common ground can bring them closer to you and help them associate your name with who you are.

You want to give them a reason to remember your name. Have a conversation and then find out something that you have in common. He'll probably ask you what you do too, but I'll get onto that later...

Step 2: Think Of Something Your Both Interested In

You've been given their name, but it isn't sticking to the side of your brain like an adhesive. But there are ways to remember their name. And here's how...

Say you're a football fan, your new friend is probably interested in the game too. Maybe you both like the same team, or maybe he's simply curious to hear your views on the game itself.

If you've found a common ground between both of you, the name will stick in his head. Maybe he'll even mention it to his friends the next day?

Step 3: Repeat It And Mean It

You've found a common ground and you both like the same stuff. Maybe you both support the same team, or maybe you're into comics or even video games. Whatever it is, if you both have something to talk about that isn't too boring then this is going to be easy.

Now repeat his name several times and mean it. People tend to remember words that are repeated and mean something. So if you repeat his name and mean it, he'll be able to associate your name with his thoughts about the particular subject matter.

Say his name is Mike. Repeat it "Mike! Mike! Mike! What's up, Mike?" over 10-15 times and then do the same thing with your idea of the subject matter he's interested in.

"Mike, I really like fighting games. You should try out this new one called Mortal Kombat. It's a classic. And the story mode is awesome. It's got a ton of characters."

Okay, so maybe you're not interested in Mortal Kombat but imagine you like to discuss comics, or football. You get the idea!

Step 4: Ask For Their Email Address

So you've found a common ground with this guy and he's still struggling to remember your name. But don't worry... this will be over soon if you ask for his email address.

Think about it. Even if he doesn't mind, he might just give it to you for a laugh. And if anything... maybe he'll email you back!

You want to try and get their email address so you can get to know them a bit better. If you've already got a common ground and you've tried to repeat their name, this should be easy.

Step 5: Repeat Their Name When You're Writing Your Email

So you've asked for his email address... and now he's given it to you. He'll probably want to know why you want it and then eventually he'll want to know your name... but don't worry about that.

Just repeat his name when writing your email over 10-15 times just like in step two. This should be enough to remember his name next time you see him or talk to him. You'll already have his email address too if you've asked for it...

Step 6: Send A Thank You Email And Then A Friendly One

So receipt of the email address, you might want to send a thank you message. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular. Just say thanks for your email address and then sign off with your name. Just keep repeating his name over 10-15 times when writing your email.

Conclusion

So there you have it, step-by-step instructions on how to remember a new guy's name. And this should cover all your bases.

Hopefully he'll want to email you back, and when he does, the only two things you need to remember are the email address and his name... Ideally though, he'll think of something else you have in common that will stick in his mind.

But even if this doesn't work out...
