Notes From A Hypnotist, Part 2: Creating A New Year That’s Way Better Than Last Year
What did you learn in 2017? Was it a time of growth and new adventures, or the most depressing year yet? If you found yourself stuck in 2017, feeling as though nothing good was happening to you - and wondering why all of your resolutions just seemed to fall apart - this post is for you.
The key lesson I learned from the first article is that we all have unique life stories, but many of us are stuck doing things we don't want to do because our intuition tells us that's what we need to do. We feel as though we don't have a choice - yet, 99% of the time, we actually do have a choice.
I've had to learn that the hard way. This past year, I was unhappy with my career (I was an attorney turned marketing consultant). I decided to leave that career path, and instead help people like myself who don't believe they have any powers of persuasion even though they do. I decided to give it a try, and run with it.
I sold everything I owned (except for my car) and moved across the country. I started working from my home office, lived in a trailer park for a few months, then bought a house in Las Vegas. At that point, things began to look up for me. Things that used to eat away at me no longer did - but there was still work left to be done...
A few months into 2018, I began having these strange dreams. Sometimes I would have them every day, sometimes several times a week. In these dreams, a voice was telling me to do things - at first it couldn't decide what to say, but then it became clearer and clearer.
One night in March, I had this dream: "Dan Janal is a good man. His son is bad. He was stabbed by a woman with a green snake's body. He died, and his body was eaten by many snakes."
I wasn't familiar with the name Dan Janal, but I did know that my dream's snake reference happened during the time of year when snakes are most active. That night, I Googled it. I found out that a man named Dan Janal had passed away in November of 2017, and that he was the son of an author named John Janal.
I was shocked to know that I had a dream which came true - how could I have known this? How did a snake whose body contains poisonous venom effect me in my dreams?
Well, the answer is that it wasn't the snake I thought of. Snakes are a powerful symbol of transformation, and that meaning must have been brought to the forefront of my subconscious mind.
My first thought upon hearing of Mr. Janal's death? I wonder if he and his dad had issues. My intuition was right - they had a falling out in 2017, and John was talking about how he would have no contact with his son from now on.
The next day, I had this dream: "The souls of Dan Janal and his father are at a crossroads. Dan has one foot in the grave, and the other is on his father's chest. John is shouting 'You have killed me!' as he watches his son turn into a snake."
By this point, I knew my intuition was on to something - I Googled "snakes eating people" and found an article about a man who was eaten alive by snakes in the Congo. I knew my intuition was telling me about this man, not Dan Janal.
That night, I had another dream: "Dan Janal is better than his father. There are two paths for him to choose."
The next day, I was sitting in my backyard when I got a call from a friend who told me that there was an article on Bob Simpson's website about snakes eating people in the Congo again. I was surprised, but that was only the beginning of the real story.
The snake in the dream wasn't a danger to Dan Janal - it was a danger to John Janal, who had convinced Dan that he could be better than his father. The son took on his father's bad habits, and by now was drinking heavily and probably taking drugs as well.
I knew that if Dan Janal could stop living like his father, he would be fine - but his father would die from being crushed by him. I knew I had to do something about it, or someone would get hurt - and that person would probably be John Janal. I had to do something fast - so I contacted the author. As we spoke on the phone, my intuition kept trying to tell me what to tell him - but I was scared.
Conclusion: Within 48 hours of my first contact with John Janal, Dan Janal was found dead in his home - a victim of an alcohol and drug overdose. He had become a snake himself, and he was eaten by the metaphorical snake of his past.
If I hadn't heard that my intuition was "on to something" before I spoke to Mr. Janal, I wouldn't have had the courage to warn him that his son might not be long for this world.
