Positive Attitude - A Success Formula
Do you know why the most successful people in this world are so successful? Sure, they have a great work ethic, they're disciplined and motivated. They spend many hours working their butts off - but that's not the real reason.
The real reason is because they have a positive attitude.
What's more, according to this article by Psychology Today," ... while optimism doesn't guarantee success any more than pessimism guarantees failure, research has found optimistic people generally fare better. People who perceive their opportunities as better than average, for example, are more than twice as likely to have a good marriage."
Here are just a few of the benefits of having a positive attitude:
You'll be happier. When you have a positive attitude, you experience fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression. Depression is linked to decreased activity in your dopamine and serotonin systems. Optimism is important for these neurotransmitters to work optimally - so your mood will benefit when you focus on the good things in life.
You'll have more success. Your attitude will affect the way you think and behave in the world. In one study, pessimistic people were told they may or may not receive an electric shock. When they believed they would not, they experienced greater anxiety than those who thought they would get shocked. On the flip side, when optimistic people were told that the shocks were inevitable, they experienced less anxiety than pessimists did in the first group, because their attitude enabled them to think of ways to cope with the situation. In both cases, their attitude affected their anxiety.
You'll be more productive. Working with a positive attitude is all about being energized and enthusiastic - and that can improve your productivity! Researchers have found that people who have a positive outlook on life are significantly more motivated and productive than workers who don't. When you have a good attitude, your performance will improve because you'll be encouraged - and more motivated to do well in the workplace.
You'll get better results when making decisions. When you're optimistic, you'll have a more favorable attitude toward risk. Because of that, you'll be better at evaluating opportunities and making appropriate decisions. Years ago, the airlines lost billions of dollars because they chose to ignore the warning signs and ignore their own data analyses. If the airlines had been more positive about the future prospects for air travel and a little more open to risk-taking, there would have been no 9/11... and they would be making billions today.
You'll improve your relationship with others. Working in a team requires some healthy competition as people try to better one another. When you work with a positive attitude, that competition can help everyone perform better and stay motivated.
So remember: your attitude will affect the results you get in your life. It matters because - as I mentioned above - it's all about energy and enthusiasm... and that's where positive attitude comes from.

Happy New Year! "The golden chain of nature is formed by the sun and the moon; from these two run the whole chain of being. The primary elements in nature are water, fire, and earth; from these the secondary elements are produced, and from them the metals, stones, and other things. The sun and the moon are themselves composed of primary elements--of fire and water. To these must be added one on each side--the earth on one side, air on the other. The moon is without air; but in some degree it is full of earth, as seen by its dark spot at the circumference. The sun is full of fire and quite devoid of earth. And so the moon, as it moves in a smaller orbit, and the sun, in a larger one, move round their own centres; and this translation of them produces night and day. For when they approach each other they make night; but when they are far apart, they bring on day.
But in addition to this there must be something which is neither air nor fire nor water nor earth.
Conclusion: This whole chain of being, in which we are all engaged, may be described as a golden chain. It is formed of the sun and the moon; from these two run the whole chain of being. The primary elements in nature are water, fire, and earth; from these the secondary elements are produced, and from them the metals, stones, and other things. The sun and the moon are themselves composed of primary elements--of fire and water.
