Inside Insurance – Protection Priorities
As a child we are always warned to not talk to strangers and, as adults, we are barraged with warnings to act responsibly. We protect ourselves by having home insurance in case of fire, renters insurance in case of theft or accidental damage and automobile insurance in case of an accident. But what about protection from the unimaginable? All families need life insurance for themselves and their family members too.

Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL) are independent, non-governmental entities which perform a wide range of tests and evaluations for the purpose of Certification to Standards or other requirements related to a product's safety by various public protection agencies (e.g., Underwriters Laboratories Inc.). NRTLs are recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for use in conformity determination activities under 29 CFR 1910 Subpart K (Voluntary Protection Programs). In this capacity NRTLs can utilize a label (usually yellow) which signifies a product meets the requirements of a specific ANSI, OSHA or other standard. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) maintains a listing of all NRTLs in North America, including those NEMA-funded and non-funded.

Conclusion
Insurance is a good means for protecting life and property but it is not a panacea. Insurance companies are required to adhere to specific policies which state in great detail what the company must do in the event of a claim. The policy most commonly used by insurance companies will guarantee them if they fail to meet these expectations then in most cases the customer is fully liable for any damages, so many consider this as "self insurance". If a house or business owner sells his business or home and has no need for that business then that policy should be transferred onto the buyer. This way there is no financial burden on the seller and he knows he can always sell again should the need arise.
