There are lots of good bodybuilding equipment machines out there, including lots of different types of leg machines (calf-raisers are great for developing calf muscles), and upper body machines like chest presses, which allow you to work on your pecs without damaging your shoulders.

There's also machines to tone your abs and a lot of different machines just to give you a kick-your-butt workout, like the 7-ton press. It's not quite as effective as having a bar (and if you can lift it, it's probably not much fun either - but you can get one real cheap on eBay), but if you're really serious about getting ripped, it's definitely worth looking into (be sure to check out your safety instructions first!).

I'd definitely recommend buying your bodybuilding equipment along with weights. They work well together, and a lot of the machines are designed to be used with dumbbells.

Unfortunately, there's no tried and true method for picking out bodybuilding equipment. I'd recommend spending some time at your local gym (or at a friend's house if you have one) going through the different options until your head explodes!
