Beginners Digital Photography Equipment Tips

 Beginners Digital Photography Equipment Tips

For many of us, our cellphones act as a primary means to store and edit photos. Meanwhile, our tablets are our go-to travel companions for watching movies and TV shows on the go. But what if you want to take your photography or videography skills up a notch? It's time for some new equipment!

In this post, I will list my recommendations for beginner digital equipment: good quality starter cameras/lenses for photography, microphones I recommend starting with for video recording, and audio monitors that allow you to listen back your recordings without needing headphones. You can also find all of these items in one place with the B&H kit listed below!

Since my goal today is to provide beginner gear suggestions for serious photography and videography enthusiasts, I'll be skipping the wonderful mediocrity that is smartphone cameras and going straight to the pro-level lenses. You will find a variety of options from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax and Tamron that can all cater to your individual needs. Just remember that your camera isn't always the key to great pictures! Lens selection is also extremely important as focal length plays a major role in how an image will look when captured.

For example, the Rokinon 7.5mm Fisheye Wide Angle Lens is great for shooting large interior spaces and exterior landscapes. On the other hand, if you're looking for something more traditional, Canon's EF 24-70mm f/4L lens is my go-to recommendation.

What about audio recording? While you could certainly go with a high quality set of studio headphones to monitor audio, I've had great results using a Sennheiser MKH416 Microphone with 1/4' Jack, 1/8' Jack and XLR-3A Output. This microphone makes it easy to plug into your camera and monitor your audio with ease!

I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction into beginner digital photography equipment. Now go out there and start much needed upgrades!

Happiness is a skill that can be learned and practiced. The following four habits have changed my life in multiple ways. I hope they also help you live a happier life! http://habitsforhappiness.com/4-tips-to-a-happier-life/

Jagged Little Pill The Musical, Review & Show Blog New Show Openings: Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen & Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 I've added two new pages to my show blog! First is a review of Jagged Little Pill The Musical, which opened on Broadway at the end of January. The second is a review of Dear Evan Hansen, which opened on Broadway last month. Both shows are great, and it's awesome to see so many people attend these shows despite freezing cold temperatures across the country! I've also added a page for Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. It's one of the most unique experiences I've ever had in theater, and if you're someone who enjoys big and bold musicals, this show will blow you away. 2017 Review: Two Day Trip to NYC I've added a new post about my two day trip to NYC in 2017. If you'd like to read about my experience eating at Shake Shack, Odeon and Junior's Cheesecake, click the link below! http://habitsforhappiness.com/new-york-city/

World of Color: Winter Dreams at Disney California Adventure Park I've added a new video to the blog for all of Disney's World of Color: Winter Dreams at Disney California Adventure Park. The show was originally released on DVD in 2012 and has been updated to include another act since then, but I'm still waiting for a full version on Blu-Ray! :P

I also added a page for Finding Dory and an update on the previous page for Moana. World of Color Disneyland 60th Anniversary Show I've added a new page for World of Color: Disneyland 60th Anniversary Show, which just debuted at Disneyland in California. This show is an updated version of the World of Color show that Disney put on for the 50th anniversary, along with a variety of other shows in 2016 and 2017!

Festival of Holidays at Big Tex Circle 2015 I've added a new page for the Festival of Holidays at Big Tex Circle 2015. This was a show I saw earlier this month at the Doubletree in San Antonio, Texas!

Music on Main Street 2013 I've added a new page for my trip to Disneyland's Music On Main Street 2013. The show plays every night from November to January and includes lots of fun characters! Music at Disneyland Resort I made another addition to the site. Check out all the wonderful Disney music videos from 1964-2016 here: http://habitsforhappiness.

Conclusion: Our Journey Together As you've noticed, I'm not a very verbose person. That's just the way I am, and I'm actually quite proud of that. I love being efficient and effective on a daily basis, so doing things quickly is what I strive for! It's true that slower can be better sometimes. Sometimes taking your time and getting things right is worth the extra effort. For me, it's about workflow efficiency and prioritizing my priorities based on my lifestyle.
