Get more than just a presence on the Internet

A blog is a simple way to stay up-to-date for your clients, colleagues, and friends. It's the easiest and cheapest way to promote yourself on the internet. But it can also be much more — a blog can be used as a powerful marketing tool to catch potential customers' attention.

It’s an excellent method of generating buzz about your business while simultaneously earning valuable links in search engine optimization techniques, popularity with customers, and increased traffic rates.

In many ways, blogging is similar to writing letters. You reach a large audience while staying up-to-date with your readers. Blogs are bite-sized, which means they work well for people with busy schedules who still want exposure online. A business blog can give you the perfect strategy to building credibility, reputation and visibility online, every day. It helps you build relationships with loyal clients and customers without having to be physically in front of them all the time.

The first step to establishing a blog is putting together a plan of action for how your blog will bring in more business opportunities for you. Follow these steps:

Choose a topic for your blog. During the planning stage, it’s important to decide what your blog will be about. Agree on what you want to talk about, and then develop a plan of action of how you'll be able to maintain interest in their posts. Post frequently. Blogs can become stale if they don't get updated often enough. It’s important to send out new content at least once per week, and post even more frequently if you have the time (and energy). Get your name and logo on every post. Use your business logo as an image on the right hand corner of the blog. Having your website address and e-mail on the blog is also a great way to make sure readers know where to get in touch with you if they have any questions or comments about what you have written. Use keywords throughout your content. While keeping your blog interesting and useful for readers, it's still important for search engines like Google to understand what your blog is about. Using keywords in individual posts is one way to achieve this. Include relevant links within your posts. Google's algorithm is constantly evolving and using a handful of relevant links can improve your ranking. Search engine optimization techniques like keyword stuffing, which is the act of placing one or more keywords within your page or blog post as often as possible, are considered black hat practices by many search engine experts. However, if your blog is well-received and growing in popularity, it's hard to go wrong with some keyword stuffing.
