Increasing Your Energy

 Increasing Your Energy

We all experience that feeling of fatigue, when we can't keep up with the everyday tasks. The trick is to find a way to stimulate your mind without over-stimulating it. Here are 3 tips for increasing your energy:

Tip 1: Exercise regularly and eat healthy food - This tip might seem like a no-brainer, but you would be amazed at how many people do not take care of their bodies. Regular exercise boosts metabolism and burns calories, which has an overall positive impact on the body. Eating healthy food also helps boost energy levels, especially if you incorporate foods rich in protein into your diet such as fish or eggs.

Tip 2: Motivate yourself - A lot of people get depressed when faced with difficult tasks, because they lack the energy to complete them. This is why it is important to stay motivated, and when you feel down, find a way to cheer yourself up! Find a fun activity that you can complete in the short amount of time you have left. Maybe it is taking some creative pictures with your friends, or doing mini-research projects over the weekend. You will be surprised by how motivated you are after completing these small tasks.

Tip 3: Make sure your sleep schedule is on point - Another reason people feel tired all the time is because they do not get enough sleep every night. If you are regularly sleeping less than 6 hours a night, you will be constantly tired and have trouble keeping up with your duties. Try making sure to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, and make sure that you do not associate your bed with anything negative. If you know that getting out of bed means competing with the other two roommates for the remote control, then this step might be a little bit harder.

I hope that these tips help you increase your energy levels and get more done in less time.

Guided Meditations

We always want to improve our life in every way we can. In the world of self development, no one can deny that the best way to improve our life is through meditating. We all know meditation is a very good way to relax, focus and better understand ourselves. As I always believe it's better to learn from people who have been there and gone through these experiences, I have put together some guided meditations for you to follow.

Concentration Meditation

This is a very simple guided meditation which will help you focus and gain concentration in your tasks throughout the day. This guided meditation was created by Ryan Bell. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Sit or lie down on a comfortable surface, with your head facing forward. Make sure you form a 90 degree angle with your knees and chin, with your shoulders remaining above your waist. Also make sure that there is not much light in the room, and that you are relaxed enough to close your eyes. In case this position makes you feel uncomfortable, sitting or lying down on a yoga mat can solve this issue for you.

2. Close your eyes, and try to relax your body as much as possible. Take deep breaths in and out, trying to release all of the stress you are feeling by exhaling.

3. Now, imagine a mountain in front of you, while still taking deep breaths. The mountain should look very high ahead of you and have trees surrounding the base of it. The trees should be bright green and there should be a river flowing on either side of the trees. There should also be a few small animals around the river such as deer or fishes swimming in it.

4. Now we are going to start with the main meditation. Visualize a big moon on the mountain, but it should not look like a "moon" you see in magazines or on TV. Instead, this moon should look like something you could see in real life. In order for the moon to look realistic, it is important that there is no light around it and that everything looks like an HD video: no reflections, no noise at all.

5. While looking at this "moon", try to focus your mind as if you were trying to bring everything down to one focus point on the mountain, while also relaxing your body as much as possible. Imagine the light of the moon penetrating your body and filling it with positive energy. As you can see, this meditation is not about thinking of nothing or thinking of one thing, but rather trying to concentrate on one thing and bring your focus point back to it as many times as possible.

Love Meditation

If you've never practiced love meditation then this is a good guided meditation for you. This guided meditation was created by Danielle Tukua. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Get into a comfortable position, such as sitting on a chair with your back straight up or lying down on your bed or yoga mat (preferably in a place where there is no noise at all).

2. Close your eyes, and try to relax your body as much as possible. Take deep breaths in and out, trying to release all of the stress you are feeling by exhaling. You can also add a nice aromatherapy for this meditation (check the recommended essential oils for aromatherapy).

3. Now start focusing on relaxing your mind, trying to bring it down to a very calm state where you can meditate easily. Picture your mind like a cloud floating around in the air and growing bigger until it completely covers you or surrounds your entire body, but don't try too hard or strain yourself while doing this.

4. While you are visualizing your mind, imagine a few berries on the ground covered in white snow. Make sure you actually see them before it's time to move on so that you don't have to think about it anymore.

5. Now imagine that your mind is also covered in snow and try to make it bigger than the berries, but again do not strain yourself as this might be a little too much for your brain to handle right now if you do this correctly.

6. Now, picture a happy little heart with eyes and arms feeling love toward every single thing and person around you. The heart should be smiling while feeling that love, and it should be sending the love to every living thing. This is a very good way to feel loved. Make sure you actually see this before moving on.

7. Now you are ready to move on with the rest of the guided meditation, which is trying to make yourself feel loved and sending that love toward your family, friends and anyone else who has made an impact in your life (such as parents, friends or teachers). You will be doing this part for a few minutes, until you feel completely relaxed again or until your alarm clock goes off (set it for 5 or 10 minutes).

Conclusion

Meditation is an important part of personal development, but it can be difficult to do alone. That's why I recommend guided meditation sessions which will give you instructions on how to meditate in the most effective way.

Our lives are driven by our thoughts and emotions, so meditations can help us become better at controlling our thoughts and emotions, as well as being more aware of them. Try out some of these guided meditations to see if they work for you! As with any practice, be sure to listen to your own body before trying anything out new or unfamiliar.
