 Ingredients That Are Beneficial In Skin Care Products


Beauty and skin care contain the use of certain ingredients that can benefit our appearance, but some ingredients are better than others. This article will list out the good and bad ingredients to watch out for when reading labels.

The good- Ingredients: These are beneficial for giving your skin a healthy glow as well as minimizing the appearance of wrinkles. Some examples include water droplets, almond extracts and lavender oil.

The bad- Ingredients: These have been shown to cause rashes or acne breakouts on sensitive skin types and should be avoided at all costs. Some examples include mint oils, peppermint extract, lavender oil and peppermint extract.

The good- Essential oils are rich in antioxidants and fragrances. These oils can be found in different products such as soaps, perfumes and creams. With these ingredients, it is vital to find a product that has an adequate smell or flavor, but is not too strong or offensive to your preference.

The bad- Artificial fragrances have been known to cause skin irritation especially on sensitive skin types. Other ingredients include alcohols and artificial colors. The good- Ingredients: These are necessary ingredients that are healthy for nourishing and moisturizing your skin. Some examples include aloe leaf juice, green tea extract, ceramides and glycerin.

The bad- Ingredients: These often contain harmful ingredients such as alcohols, artificial colors and fragrances. Alcohols are drying to the skin which in turn causes a loss of moisture within the skin. Artificial colors can cause an allergic reaction whereas fragrances may irritate sensitive skin types.

The good- Some products contain a list of ingredients that act as an antioxidant to help reduce any damage due to toxins or harmful elements in your environment or food consumption. Examples include the sunflower seed oil.

The bad- Ingredients: These can be harmful in some cases, especially to sensitive skin types. Some examples include mineral oils, petroleum jelly and softeners.

The good- Ingredients: They are a natural ingredient which helps soothe and purify skin pores. Research has shown that this ingredient could also help to prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming on your face. Examples include extracts such as grape juice and kiwi fruit juice.

The bad- Ingredients: Some of these products contain artificial colors and fragrances which may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions on sensitive skin types. Other ingredients include alcohols, emulsifiers and preservatives that may cause problems including acne breakouts.

The good- Ingredients: These help bring the moisture and nutrients to skin cells. Examples include lecithin and lanolin.

The good- Ingredients: These are natural ingredients that help minimize moisture loss within the skin layers as well as keep it healthy and hydrated at all times during your beauty regimes. Examples include collagen hydrolysates, shea butter and olive oil.

The bad- Ingredients: These may irritate or cause allergic reactions on sensitive skin types. Many of these ingredients are petroleum and petroleum derivatives, mineral oils and artificial colors.

The good- And last but not least, is another ingredient that is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients that improve your skin tone and color as well as giving it a healthy glow. Examples include vitamin C serum with ceramides which can be found in products such as lipsticks, moisturizers and foundations.
