Spirituality Information - John Harricharan's Interview With Yanik Silver (Q3)

Yanik Silver is a spiritual teacher based in New York City. He became interested in spiritual practice as a young person, and began studying with a variety of teachers including His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. He started his own spiritual group called "The Matrix," which is an approach that combines ancient wisdom and modern science to create an integrated understanding of the world around us. In this interview, John Harricharan explores what it means to be spiritual using the interview with Yanik Silver as case study elaborating on what three key aspects Spirituality manifests: 1. The experience of being-without-thought 2. The experience of consciousness-without-an-object 3. The experience of joy.

John Harricharan: Hi Yanik, welcome to the show. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Yanik Silver: Hey John, thanks for having me. I'm excited to have this opportunity to talk with you and your listeners and readers, since the information that I have been working on over the past few years applies to everyone.
I'm a spiritual teacher and writer based in New York City, and I've been working on an integrated approach to spirituality that combines ancient wisdom and modern science to create a new paradigm for living. This is the paradigm that I refer to as "spiritual technology."
It is dually focused on facilitating the awareness of and harnessing consciousness, and it's been evolving over a period of twenty years. It started with my involvement in a group called The Matrix, which was a spiritual group that was started by my parents. They got involved in this group as young people and developed their own understanding of spirituality through their study with different teachers over time.
I then went on to study with many different teachers myself, including His Holiness, the Dalai Lama who I spent quite a bit of time with. In addition to studying with these great masters, I've also studied psychology at Columbia University and business at Columbia Business School. So, I've had a very interesting and diverse background.
It was my parents' desire to create an integrated approach to spirituality that they didn't feel was available in any of the spiritual paths that they studied, which is why they started their own spiritual group.
In my adult life I continued to explore various schools and different approaches to spirituality and discovered that I really enjoyed teaching, so the teachings have just evolved over time as my understanding has deepened.
I have a unique perspective on spirituality because of my background, but also because of the way in which my teachings are delivered.
