The Birth of GPT's

 The Birth of GPT's

If you're an avid technology user, you've probably come across the acronym “GPT”. GPT stands for "Game Points" and is a new way to buy digital games in Australia. You see, international companies like Steam or Xbox all have their own form of currency and these currencies are often really expensive to buy with Australian dollars. With GPT's however, you can use your pre-paid credit card or "e-fund" account (think PayPal) to buy games without paying any conversion fees.
They're a pretty cool concept, so I figured that I'd write a blog post about them. The site I use to buy games, Steam actually has its own article where you can read more about how GPT works and why it's great for users. So if you're interested in finding out how GPT can save you money, check out the link above!

If you're a gamer, it's probably safe to say that you've spent at least some time in the digital world of titles like Minecraft or World of Warcraft . These games offer a massive amount of content, but have the unfortunate quality of being pretty expensive to buy. Many people have chosen to get around this problem through the use of virtual currencies like Steam Gift Cards or Google Play credit because these cards can easily be purchased using Australian dollars.
However, there is a new option for gamers in Australia - you can now buy PC and Xbox games using a new currency called “Game Points”. GPT is an innovative way to buy games that gives you much more flexibility than the usual system of paying for games with gift cards. For example, a $50 Google Play Gift Card can only be used to purchase one game costing $50 or less and this means you'd end up losing money if you bought two separate $25 games.
However, buying the same two $25 games with Game Points gives you much more freedom. With GPT's you can purchase not one but TWO different $25 games and still have a 50% savings (and they don't even have to be the same game!).
You can also choose how many points you want to buy. Each point is good for buying one game, so if you bought two games with 1,000 points and each costs $25, then your total cost would be $50 - just like buying an Xbox Gift Card. Now, you might think that this isn't very secure because of the fact that you lose some money on unused points. But unlike buying a physical Gift Card, you won't need to keep track of the unused points you have left - Game Points will auto-redeem them for games!
So if you're looking to buy some new games on Steam or Xbox, this is a great way to save money. I recommend checking out Game Points.com to see if it's right for you.
The future is bright for Game Points!
