 Fraud Protection And E-commerce

The number of online shoppers is constantly growing and so are the risks associated with it. With more people shopping online, cybercriminals have found a quick way to steal their information or credit card details.

In order to protect yourself from fraud, you should know what to do when you receive an email from your bank that asks for additional information following a suspicious transaction or when your credit card is declined while shopping online. If you don’t want to be scammed out of your hard-earned money, follow these tips:

1) Always watch out for any additional fees on a bill after it has been paid through PayPal or with bitcoin - some platforms increase the payment processing fee by up to 20%. In order to avoid these fees, you can transfer your funds to a bank account.

2) Be careful whether you are buying from a reputable business or not. A lot of products are sold online by scammers that provide photos and names that seem authentic but in reality, when you receive the product it will be different from the one shown in the "advert". This scam is also known as “drop shipping” or “bait-and-switch” and is used for selling luxury items at cheap prices. Always check the reputation of a business before making a purchase.

3) "Phishing" is the most popular online fraud today and refers to emails that seem to be sent by reputable companies. The goal is to trick users into thinking that they are not clicking on a link but rather that they are typing the website address directly into the browser address bar. Sometimes phishing emails do not contain any links at all, but it’s enough for them to look like legitimate emails from your bank or PayPal, or any other online vendor, for you to click on one of these links and give away your personal information.

4) Make sure you always use a secure connection to pay online or transfer your funds. Otherwise, your passwords will be stolen if hackers manage to gain access to your account. If you don’t want to take that risk, you should always make the payment via a payment provider such as PayPal or Western Union.

5) Better yet, remain cautious when purchasing online and make sure that your transactions are not done through a third party service such as eBay or Amazon since these can be connected with your bank accounts and provide easy access to them (which is also called “e-commerce fraud").

6) If you receive a suspicious email, do not reply to it and ignore it. Make sure that you describe the email as spam so that your email provider will not deliver it. You should then call the authorities and let them know about the fraud in order for them to take action before a bigger problem is created.

If you are worried about online security, you should consider setting up an account on one of these two top companies providing free VPN services:

1) ExpressVPN - their servers are all located in servers from 19 countries including Germany, Canada, Japan, Netherlands, Panama and so on.

2) NordVPN - their servers are located in servers from 31 countries, including Germany and the Netherlands.

By using one of these VPN networks, your IP address will be hidden and your data will be encrypted, making it impossible for cybercriminals to access and steal them.

If you want more money, just continue reading the article. This is for you if you have a bit of time, sense of direction and the willingness to better yourself.

First let me start with the disclaimer that this isn't for people who don't like to save money or invest a few bucks when they see an opportunity to make more in return. In other words, if you think "Why should I invest my $$ when I can just buy it?" then this article is not for you. This is for those who have a good work ethic (like yours truly), common sense and wants to make sure any efforts made are not going in vain.

Since we're at it here, maybe I should clarify that I'm not the kind of person who wants to look for random topics to write about. In fact, the questions I usually have in mind when writing articles revolve around how to make more from my current situation. My last article was about Tips On How To Build A Healthy Relationship With Your Spouse And have a kid or kids while on your way towards financial independence.

I had a decent response from followers but there were also some people who were helpful and told me they really liked my teachings (which made me feel good). Those who were skeptical of what I wrote didn't really give me negative thoughts and just told me to keep doing what I'm doing. I can only hope that they'll see the value in my teachings and will eventually try it out for themselves with positive results.

So anyway, back to this article and since this is a kind of follow-up on my previous post, everything that came from that post is still valid:

Budgeting vs Financial Independence (FI)

Conclusion

Okay, so what's the point of this article?

Well, we don't want to be working forever and for that to happen, we have to save. Right? Saving is important but more than that, it's necessary. If you're not careful and disciplined with your money then you won't be able to retire early especially if you are still young. That's why it'll be nice if you can figure out a way to make more money without having a second job or even leaving your current job. In this article I'm going explain how one can do that by leveraging the power of technology.
