RippedFreak, I use the site myself and it's a great resource. You can choose a body part or goal and search for specific programs. For example, if you choose a "Squat" as your goal, all the exercises that are associated with that are displayed for you and you just click on what fits your workout routine and weight loss goals. It's very easy to use too! Hope that helps! By the way check out my other hub titled "How to Lose Weight Without Starving Yourself" under my profile if you want more info on weight loss. I'm sure it'll be helpful to you too. Have a great day!
8: how to lose weight & build muscle at the same time
This is a question I get asked all the time and since not everything out there talks about this topic, I decided to write this hub on how to lose weight and build muscle at the same time. If you're wondering how exactly to lose weight and gain muscle, then take your personal trainer for a test drive and I assure you, you'll get results within a few weeks of doing what he says.
First of all, let's focus on the exercise part of it because that's probably one of your biggest concerns when trying to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, then you should strongly concentrate on the workout routine section instead of starving yourself or doing cardio every day. If you do that, then not only will your waist size not shrink it'll actually grow and get bigger since you're simply trying to burn fat instead of building muscle and a lean body.
On the opposite side of the coin, if you want to gain muscle mass, then DO NOT starve yourself or do cardio. Instead do plenty of strength training with weights and mix some cardio training into your workouts especially in between. The key here is not to overtrain so balance things out by working out various parts of your body in different ways and making sure you're eating clean s*** too.
Here are some tips on how to lose weight and build muscle at the same time:
Firstly, pick your exercises carefully. If you're a beginner, don't do too many exercises since being overtrained can cause you to lose muscle mass, which is not what you want. On the other hand, if you're an experienced lifter then just go nuts with your exercises. Remember that the more muscles work at all times during your workouts the better since that causes a lot of metabolic stress and helps promote fat loss.
Secondly, you can't go wrong with the basics. Lifting heavy weight and doing compound exercises are your friends so if you're not used to lifting then start light and progress from there. If you're a bit older then just be careful because your joints aren't as flexible as they once were so don't rush things too fast. Once you find what works for you then stick to it.
Thirdly, don't overdo cardio. If you do too much, then your body will start burning muscle instead of fat which is not what we want here. Cardio should be used only as a supplement after your strength training routine since the more muscle mass that works out at all times during a workout, the better. Find your cardio sweet spot where you're not going overboard and lose muscle mass.
Fourthly, eat clean. I'm putting this tip here because it's important regardless of whether you're trying to lose weight or gain muscle mass. You should be eating a clean diet which means you won't be eating things like processed foods, fast food, junk food or whatever you want to call it; that's why we all love soda and candy bars! If you eat too many empty calories then that'll have a negative impact on your results for both weight loss and building muscle mass so stick to buying stuff that has natural ingredients in them as much as possible.
And finally, you're going to have to be patient. Don't rush things and keep working at it even if your weight loss isn't visible right away. Keep that in mind during these hard times and don't give up! There comes a point where you'll be glad you did it. Guys, if you want to lose weight and build muscle at the same time then go to your local gym or workout center and look for a personal trainer. You'll have fun learning new exercises while burning fat at the same time. Enjoy!
